Pro M Review

I will preface this with I am a Military Varsity B player who has only played as high as C ball in Utrip, so I wont try to speak to any ball other than what I have used. I played Over 40 and Military B Worlds in Viera last year and used the Classic M. As everyone knows the Classic M did not perform well last year and sitting in buckets in the heat all day only made those balls horrendous. I was excited to hear of a new ball being used this year and let me tell you it did not disappoint, imo. I pitch and found the Classic Pro had the same feel as the classic (no raised or lowered seems, not slippery, etc...), however it did seem a little lighter, but that couldve been in my head. The ball stayed hard in the heat, humidity and torrential rains we played through. I didnt see any out of the ordinary hops that I would say the ball contributed to. My outfielders said the ball didnt knuckle anymore than balls they had seen all year (which was a concern I read in other posts). As far as distance, the ball traveled very well and we hit just as many HRs as we normally did throughout the year, whereas last year we didnt come close with the Classic M. So, basically I am saying for those who will be using the Classic Pro at your Worlds, I think you will find it to be a great ball and beg for it to be used in all hot/humid locations. Hope this helps Monty #33 GC/NF Sports
