I heard people praise the umpires for their hustle and say utrip could learn from them. Then other people say their 3 man crew runs around so much they aren't in position to make calls and at least one umpire ran into a player running the bases.
They were very professional and overall did a good job but mixed reviews from what I heard and I don't believe they threw out a single person at the super after hearing about how tough they are on unsportsmanlike conduct and there was a regular amount of unsportsmanlike conduct.
It felt like a normal conference event to be honest as far as unsportsmanlike conduct and the lack of it being handled. The umpires basically ignored it and definitely had ear plugs in.
I don't think they were better or worse than utrip umpires. It felt very similar except the players being out of the dugout does not seem like a good idea to me.
There seemed to be a normal level of arguing balls and strikes.
Also they stickered the bats after testing.
Overall a great event and the Super teams were close to the teams regular season rosters which the 'A' was more of an all star event with teams that had rosters that had not played together all year for the most part.
Monsta, Thunder, Dan Smith, TDB, Anarchy, and Precision all had USA 'A' teams that would have been classified Major in utrip. TDB's 'A' team had 10 Major list players and 2 watch list players for a total of 14.0 roster points.
