What are you using AI for?

I'm in a staff meeting and we are supposed to explore AI. I guess I'm out of the loop.

I don't know if this "counts", but Smart Music. Or anything that grades automatically.

If the expectation is that everyone is incorporating AI into their work (and I don't know why it would be), and you just want to satisfy them, then you can demonstrate using something like a Grammarly extension, Talking Points uses AI to write some messages for you, Music First, Flat.io, and many other music programs already use some form of AI (and will definitely increase its use in the future), which means you are using it, even though it may not look like it.
If you are actually trying to use it: Canva has AI features that can help you make slides, posters, etc. If you are a Google district, then Gemini can make slides or other documents for you. I have used it to make slides from a lesson plan. I have even used it to make a multiple choice quiz on musical terminology. There really are a lot of things you can use it for that will save you time if you give it a chance. But always check everything it gives you, including links, QR codes, etc.

I would highly suggest running ANY email you send through AI first. Also all announcements, etc.

Admin wants lesson plans extra detailed and stamped or something. Two and a half weeks in advance.

I've been extra busy, so I followed advice from a few core teachers on campus. Copied and pasted my last couple lessons into ChatGPT and put a brief description of the work I think I might need to do in a few weeks. Had it write the lesson. It looks like a lesson. It follows my usual template.

That's my first and only experience with AI in the workplace, but it's a start, I guess.

This past year I've used it a lot to help with comments from judges. I've uploaded synced judges comments with video like i've always done to YouTube, and it will generate a transcription with time codes. From there I uploaded to ChatGPT and asked it to clean it up to an easy to distribute/read copy. I also had it then sync the comments and time codes to the announcer script, and then create heat maps on the critical places we needed to focus on. I also was able to have it help me see the trends of comments we kept getting each week.

Beyond that I frequently use AI to generate background art for covers for programs and posters.

I've worked with some show designers who have also used it to help generate ideas and themes, as well as suggestions on music that might work.

I also frequently use it for data analysis/cleanup of Region entries that I track for the region. It really does excel in stuff like that!

I saw this movie, Arnold Schwarzenegger gets sent back in time to stop the human resistance. We must prevent skynet before it starts.

For serious, I will not be using AI in any form. If we’re not careful, there will be no more teachers, only computer monitors for the AI learning factory.

I work in the finance field and I was in a meeting where a coworker says as AI takes over lower level jobs more supervisors will be needed to supervise the AI. There were 10 people in the meeting. I doubt each person would move to supervise AI when you can probably have one person supervise at least 10 AI and surely the current supervisors would fill the slots first so no everyone else in that room has a job. He didn't think that far along.
