While marching is in full swing, I'm also planning ahead for C/SR.
HS band (8-12) is small, but decently balanced.
I have one flue, who is getting better, but is very weak. They are the entire flute section.
UIL for us is in March.
Bringing up some flutes from 7th grade not possible...long story, besides there is a good chance that band will also go to UIL in their own right.
What Grade 1 pieces would both help my one flute player (not expose them), and still be good for the rest of the ensemble? The rest of the ensemble is solid.

Ballet of Spring - nearly all of the Flute part is doubled in Clarinet 1, IIRC
