After discussion with my daughter Brynn (yes, that's the Brynn of BrynnPark), I told her what my favorite piece for band is.

What's your favorite piece for wind band?

Call me old-fashioned. I love the great English composers. Holst, Elgar, Vaughan Williams, and the like. Grainger counts too, even though he's an Aussie.

I played Dance Movements by Philip Sparke in college. That's my favorite by far, and I still listen to it anytime I need an escape, and look for better recordings.
