Probably Out of a job

Afternoon, everyone, I just need somewhere to vent. I was at my middle school for several years, our feeder high school got a new director this past year, and in their first year, they decided that I did not fit into their vision. So they pushed me out. Meanwhile, my then-fiancé and I just bought a house in the area, ready to start our lives in that town and district. Now we're married, and I have yet to find a job in the surrounding area. We can't move on account of having just bought the house, so we're stuck. Not really sure what to do, going to keep trying to find jobs in my area (up to an hour commute), but I am starting to have to think about changing careers or trying the public route for a year or so. Thanks for listening. any advice would be appreciated.

I had something very similar happen several years ago. Bought a house and pushed out of a job around the same time. When everything settled months later I had a different job, sold the house without too bad a hit and had a really good career after that. Hang in there. Do not be discouraged.

Unsure if you're in or around a big city, but look into elementary music if you cannot find a band job by October. That's what I did at one point in my past. I did elementary for a year then continued to look at positions for band throughout the year.

I've also substitute-taught, but it won't match your salary of course

Look into WGU. I earned a Bachelor of science in business admin accounting and now work for the state. I studied after work while teaching at an elementary and completed my degree in one year. There are Facebook groups. Check if there's a state agency near you. Let me know if you'd like more info. I taught for 9 years, 7 at middle school and above, yes I earned sweepstakes, yes I still left.

I bet I know who your new HBD is. He did it to me too, in spite of my program achieving success. I just didn't do it "the right way" (ie: his way).
