Our boosters would like to pay a history teacher for her help during summer band. She is helping tech our upper brass. Since she’s a school employee, can our boosters compensate her for her services? She will not be on contract with the school while serving as a tech.

I think that pretty clearly goes against UIL booster guidelines. However, it's a little gray since she's not on contract. What does your administration think of this plan?

This needs to be examined through the lens of your own district policies. Some districts prohibit this, some do not. Check with your principal and your board policy.
On the surface, it sounds legal - but if a school board expressly has prohibited subcontracting like this, then they may need to work unpaid (or not at all).
