Carpet to Tile

Next year I will be transitioning from a carpeted band hall to a tile floor. I am used to marking my setup using hook velcro, so that it's easy to reset and keep it looking neat. Any suggestion for marking on tile? Anyone used grease pencil?

If you're able to have them represent the field markings with the tile pattern, I'd recommend it.

We use painter's tape.

Get some colored electrical tape. Talk to your custodians so that you can mark your setup over the summer BEFORE they wax the floor, but after they strip/clean the old wax.

Once it's waxed, the wax will keep the marks intact for virtually the entire school year. If they redo the floors over Christmas Break, do it again then.

I used to do this when I taught elementary. I spray painted some shapes using a stencil and numbered them where the kids would sit. I talked with custodians so it would get waxed over.
One year I didn't get it done ahead of time, so I just numbered each spot with a dry erase marker, then I used a clear enamel spray on top of that. Wasn't as pretty but it lasted pretty darn good.
