The easy answer is that you can only play during timeouts.

NCAA Rulebook. Texas HS basketball follows those rules.

Generally speaking, you can play during time outs or when the ball is not in play.

You need a TON of SHORT (2-5 second long) things you can play and be ready to play at a moment's notice.
