I have initiated the massive undertaking of reorganizing our music library at my school. The band program here is quite old and there is a ton of music, especially quick step marches. I have my way of organizing my library, but my question is how do I leave a catalog of music for the next director? I know I won't be here forever and I want my efforts to remain in place. So far I have started a catalog in my school Google drive, but should I somehow get that transferred into an Excel spreadsheet? What about leaving a hard copy? Any ideas for this?

We have a shared google folder with our staff, and have included the head of tech, and all campus principals on the HS and JH. Everything goes in that folder…inventory, budget, library, etc. All of our itineraries, anything we create and distribute goes in that folder. That way if one or all of the band directors leave, all the principals have to do is get tech to add the new directors to the google folder. Our school provides google suite for all employees and all of our stuff is accessed using our school e-mail address.
If you’re using your school email address to access google, create a folder and start putting everything in there, then invite admins to it. If you’re using a personal e-mail address, you will want to download them to a USB drive (you’ll have to save them as excel files). Bonus points if you get a usb drive with a keychain and attach it to your keys when you turn them in. I would also make a copy and leave it on the keyboard. And take a copy with you as a back up

I did this about three years ago. I took the Charms spreadsheet template and just deleted all the sections that I did not need. It is shared with the rest of the staff as editors including the MS directors. I had not thought of making a hard copy, but I will say that I have a flash drive with all of our PDF/E-Print purchases on it. That flash drive has a lanyard and it hangs in the library next to our copier. Maybe that's a way to keep it from disappearing?

Leave a flash drive or a hard drive on the desk with a note. If you want to make sure that it doesn't disappear in cleaning you could also tape up a QR code telling them to 'scan here' when they begin and have it in a google drive for a time.
The other option would be to get your district on Presto and have your library in there, then all they need to do is continue the subscription or export from there.

Not on the desk. The custodial crew will clean the office over the summer, and things will get shifted around or perhaps lost in the process.
Put ALL relevant documents (old handbooks, financial records, copies of UIL comments if you want, any outstanding invoices or summer repair sendoffs, and inventory/library) on a flash drive and give it to the principal's secretary to store in the school safe.
Won't go missing that way.

I made an Excel. Put it on flash drive and made hard copies. I'm sure there must be an easier way than I chose.
