College Marching Band Culture

Hello everyone!
I'm frustrated about my students complaining about the Marching band program at our university. In my eyes we are doing everything right, but it seems to be an ongoing morale issue.

Any thoughts about how to keep high standards and work with students to achieve success on the field?

I've noticed all year that lots of bands have been having morale issues, mine included. I'm sure there could be some other factors, but I also believe it's an off year for many.

What do they want that your marching band isn't doing?

Have you tried listening to them?

You can still have high standards and perform music that was written within the last 15-20 years. That's the most common complaint.
