Harp question

For those with experience with Fantasy On A Japanese Folk Song by Hazo - What are other performance options you’ve seen for the written harp part for UIL?
We don’t have access to one but am curious as to what others have seen or done previously since it’s a fairly popular piece. (Rewrite for another voice in percussion, omit…?)

Three options, including:
1. Arrange/rescore for Vibraphone (fun fact, they were called vibraharps long ago)
2. Synthesizer (check with your region sec for permission/clarification on electronic substitutions)
3. Omit

Use electric piano with a harp sound. I did this last year for UIL.

I haven't done that one, but we've done a couple pieces that have called for harp and used our malletstation. Worked really well and no one could tell it was synthesized. You have a harp? Was asked of me that year at state honor band listening. That's what I would do if you have one. Playing it on a regular synthesize would be my second choice.
