Wind Solos Database Project (Help, if you can!)

Hi all,

We are updating our music inventory and want to compile a list of solos for wind instruments that should be in our library. In doing so, we want to compile a database of "go-to" solos for our students; especially those who do not have a private lesson teacher to guide them.

If you can help, would you take 5-10 minutes to fill out the attached Google Form? Once we have a working database, I'd be happy to share it with those who have contributed to it!

Hi Eric,

If you post your email address, I can send you a .docx file of my recommended solo list, which includes several solos at the class 3, class 2 and most approachable class 1 solos for each instrument.

If you're not comfortable posting that, let me know and I can send you an IM and get it privately that way.

Call JW Pepper. IIRC they used to maintain a "top ten" and "top twenty" list for solo and ensemble literature.

JW Pepper has already done this. If you go to their website, one of the panels on the left side when looking at music is their "Basic Library."
