Hello! I’m at a new campus and experiencing some hearing issues. I’m using one earplug in the ear I’ve noticed more issues but am looking for something better. Has anyone used the product linked below? They seem really expensive but might be what I’m looking for. I’d like to have something that blocks enough sound to save hearing but still allows me to hear kids. TIA!

I love earasers. I have a pair on my work keys, car keys, in my bag and in my desk. I also have a custom molded pair from etymotic. Those work really well, but they are annoying if you want to constantly remove them.

I own a pair of these, have had custom ones from Weston, and have also used Earasers. The ones you mention work well, but eat through hearing aid batteries pretty frequently. I didn't mind using them, but they're not my favorites. (Actually not sure where my pair of these are the more I think about it... I last used them before the COVID shutdown...) They're a bit annoying in that you have to keep track of the batteries, and when they start going bad, it warns you with an annoying heartbeat thump sound.
The custom molded earplugs from Weston were by far the most effective. But your ear shape changes each year, so like glasses you need a new pair every couple of years. I've not had a chance to redo those.
Earasers if you get the right sizing honestly are a pretty good balance of price, effectiveness, and portability. I've settled on those as my main day-to-day set over the past couple of years.

Go to an audiologist. Get a hearing test done. This will give you a baseline of where you are. Have them make models of your ears and get musician earplugs made. Mine take an even 25 db off of the current environment and doesn't change the sound much. They are pricey, but it's a great tool to have. I use mine in all sorts of noisy environments.
The cheaper ones will protect your hearing, but the experience and quality of sound is very compromised. But, way better than nothing.

I use Hearos and have also used Earasers. I think the Hearos are a little more comfortable that the others, but that's a personal preference thing.
