Bathroom Pass

I'm at a new school this year and the admin has asked us to create a restroom pass with no guidelines! The orchestra teacher is using a broken bass fingerboard which is pretty funny. Does anyone have any fun/funny AND effective ideas for a band bathroom pass? It should be something that we can hang on a command hook. TIA!

I always used a music stand. I’d include a sign on it saying something like “potty pass” or anything else I thought of that would be embarrassing. If they REALLY have to go, that’s going with them!

Yeah, let's see how bad we can embarrass a student for needing to use the restroom. That will make them love band.
Speaking from experience, I would be careful about trying to get a laugh at a kid's expense. It's not worth it, and if it were my own kid who was being humiliated at the hands of a teacher, I would be raging mad and coming after you.

I would just a regular old school pass that says "band hall pass" made of a small wood block on a string. However, the student would be required to leave their phone in the band hall while going to the restroom.

Have a sign out/sign in sheet and have them leave their cell phones in a secure/supervised location until they return.

"Going to the rest room" was the number one excuse to text and spend time in the RR communicating with others.

We had a copy of our yard signs printed and we had the print shop add “hall pass” to the bottom of it. We then just attached it to a broken music stand. Doesn’t need to hang, because the stands keeps it upright!

How about putting the symbol for pianissimo on a small piece wood. pp would send the correct message.
