Disbanding a booster club

This is a question from a parent from another school. I’ve never run into this, and they need some direction.
A band booster club has basically lost support both from parents and a new director. They are considering closing the account and dissolving the band boosters all together. I figure there is a correct protocol for this… anyone have advice? Thanks.

All assets are to be transferred to the ISD and turned over to the district. It's a mess to get started back up so I would encourage them to act like adults and try to salvage it if possible but if not, turn everything over and walk away.

agree as above from DesertJazz- ESPECIALLY if they have been formally organized into a Non-Profit

We have it spelled out in the organizations bylaws. Essentially the organization can be dissolved if the director feels it's in the best interest. There is a set amount of time to transfer all funds/equipment to the district.

Honestly if I ever have to pull the trigger on this I fully plan to have admin involvement. They will probably discuss with districts lawyers I would assume. This is in that legal territory where the 'not a lawyer' is a problem.
