Other Music courses

Other than teaching band or theory, has anyone taught another music course. I think it would be fun to have a soundtrap class, or something similar. If you have or are currently doing this, what did you do to start it and what do you recommend on how to start a class similar to this. Also, how can I start an applied music class?

For the first time this year I am going to include soundtrap in my music theory course for the last month or two. My intention is to eventually make the second semester about digital music, and hopefully turn it into a yearlong course once it gains popularity. The hardest part is getting the basic technological necessities, considering I cannot even get textbooks for ap music theory.

Just so you know - The MusicFirst Classroom has over 20 prebuilt courses including Podcasting, Popular Music, DJing, Beat Boxing (and tons more).

You'd be amazed at what is already there for you to use and edit as needed and you can choose whatever software (Soundtrap, etc.) to integrate with the platform seamlessly.

Yes, we just purchased a subscription to Music First and I will be attempting to use some of the podcast lessons that are already in there. Still learning the ropes right now. Thanks!
