Happy Monday everyone!

I feel like i need a little pick-me-up this week so I thought we could share some funny "I can't believe I had to say/do this" stories; or what I like to call "College didn't prepare me for this stories"

I'll go first:

Middle School Clarinet student walks up to me at the beginning of class and asks "Sir, is this reed too moldy to play on?" I proceed to take the blue, fuzzy reed away from her, break it in half and throw it away only to hear her complain that I destroyed "her favorite reed and best friend"

It's time to clean your instrument when you look into it and something is looking back at you. They get the imagery.

I had a tenor sax player ask me the same thing. He hadn’t had a new reed in two years.

On my very first day of student teaching, I was tasked with pulling a condom out of a trombone tuning slide.

A student was getting complaints about the smell of his trumpet case. He finally confessed that his cat was using it as a sandbox. He couldn't remedy the problem on his own so I awarded him a bag of kitty litter.
