Does anyone have a score that I could get a pdf of for Mike Story's "Old Time Rock and Roll?" I am taking over a new school and that score is missing, the former director hadn't needed the score in years.
Any help would be great since JWPepper doesn't seem to have it available anymore.
If my reply caused Chris to even slightly reconsider his quest to find the score to an “ok” derivation of an “ok” nearly-40 yo rendition of “ok” 1950s rock music… i elevate the quality of my response from “utterly useless” to “being a good colleague”.
If any of my buddies came to me with this request, I’d say the same thing (with all the love in the world, but way more bluntly), and offer to write/purchase music that kids actually listen to, better transcribed (no offense to Mike Story, but it seems this was a little lower on his effort/priority list), and are excited about.
There are literally 1000s of other superior pieces of music these kids could be exposed to. And before the you give me the excuse of, “¿!WuT iF tHE DrILl TeAM MaRChEs Out 2 ThIS?!” or it being TrADiTIon!1! — the world will not end if any other high energy 4/4 song were used in its stead.
