Sightreading suggestions

To get quality sighreading music, maybe UIL should consider only using composers that have music on the PML list. For example, Randall Standridge has a lot of pieces on the list, so he has proven that he could compose quality sightreading material. I am sure there are several others. What do you all think?

It really doesn't pay enough for anyone to really stick with writing Sight Reading. Jack Wilds has done a great job, as does Carol and Willie. Hard for them to justify the time though.

UIL would need to increase the fee the pay composers. That would mean an increase in fees. Personally, I think there are much larger issues with SR that would solve some of the issues with quality.

0 complaints about Jack Wilds and Carols music recently.

From what I’ve heard, the pay isn’t much-so when you’re busy like those 2, I could see why you’d start turning UIL down as previous composers did.

The unseen king and Ascension were easily the most inappropriate pieces in recent years.
