We're about to head off to Disney, and I have a question about Genie+ and LL+.

Since it's a group, are you able to individually purchase LL times for rides through the app?

I'm not sure how LL works as a group, but I can definitely tell you that I don't recommend it.

The big problem right now is that there's so many people using it, that you can get to the park right at 7:00 when LL reservations become available, and find that all of the good rides are already booked for the day. Definitely a huge waste of money.

the free Disney Genie service should suffice for groups” Genie + is an expensive add on and the feedback from student groups has not been favorable so far

Disney's free Genie service is worse than worthless. Don't bother.

Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lanes do refill throughout the day. In fact, Genie+ attractions often add extra "reservation slots" between 7:05 and 7:30 AM, and Individual Lightning Lane attractions likewise add slots at 1PM.

There are proven "power user" strategies that can improve your chances of getting the reservations you want as soon as they become available at 7AM. If you're interested, do a quick search for related articles on Disney Tourist Blog or Touringplans.com, or check Touring Plans' YouTube channel.

One last tip, if you weren't aware (I mention it because of how someone worded their reply) ... you do not have to physically be in the parks at 7AM to use Genie+. You can be at the park, at a Disney resort, off property, pretty much anywhere.

I was told by our travel agent that we might not be able to use it since the park tickets are as a group, even though we have individual tickets.

On their site, I see Genie service, but I don't see how to make it work on the app. Just Genie+ and LL.

We went at the end of April and our students were able to purchase Genie+ and LL+ once they linked their ticket to the app. Now, is it worth it? IMO...no
My students learned the hard way that they need to be in a group with others who are also willing to purchase the service.
