I have a set of old uniforms that I need to send out to pasture. I thought I saw someone post one time about sending old uniforms to South America or Mexico or someplace like that. Did I imagine that? At any rate I need these uniforms gone sometime this summer. Any ideas what others do with their old set of unis??? Please help.

Whatever - WHATEVER - it is you do with old uniforms, understand that your band uniforms are district property and there are specific methods and laws to be followed to remove them from inventory and dispose of them. Yes, even if your booster club paid for them!
They likely MUST go up for auction before they can be donated anywhere, as Texas state law requires that surplus equipment owned by public entities over a certain dollar amount must be publicly auctioned.
Involve your business office 100% of the way. Cross every T, dot every j and i. Then make the DISTRICT do the final sign-off on getting rid of ANYTHING.
The absolute LAST thing any of us needs in this day and age is to be hauled on the carpet to the local news for "misappropriation of school equipment and funds." That charge sticks a bit harder than anything short of "inappropriate conduct."

In a similar boat.
Here's what I've found. Understand we march military so my mileage will vary, likely.
I'm donating my pants to another district. While my pants are older than theirs, for them to get an extra 150 pants that will be a big plus for them.
My crossbelts, cords, and metal will all also be donated. Haven't found a recipient yet, though.
Lastly, my jackets won't likely find a home. I'm going to pull the patches off all of them (we use them for a senior gift), then likely throw away the jackets.
Again this is very specific to us. You may not be able to do that with yours. Good luck, though!
