Email request to admin to watch UIL contest

Hello All,

For those that are given the opportunity to watch uil concert contest during the school day (and do not teach hs band) how did you ask admin for permission? I would like to attend to watch our feeder hs perform but, am not sure how to go about asking. I'm ok with taking a personal day but would rather avoid it if its only for a concert performance and thats it.

If your admin is an old coach, you can ask to “scout” the contest to see what others are doing and how they sound. That my be a term they are more familiar with. But absolutely it is professional development. Good luck.

Ask as if it was (and is) Professional development. Hear how and what other bands are performing. It WILL make your band better too.
