I remember a few years ago when our UIL state executives were told not to judge anymore, and I also think-I could be wrong-they couldnít work with UIL attending bands either. I talked to them at the time and it was upsetting to them-and I donít blame them. The reason wasnít any real conflict, rather the avoiding of any possible perception of conflict. Maybe that has changed. |
Executive Secretary is a position, and itís also a person. The position with the right person can be an extremely valuable resource to all groups in the region ( Key word ďallĒ). The position with the wrong person could be the reason you turn to the Yellow Board when you have a question or need advice.
The person can also lead you to believe they have interests in the success of some groups, but not yours. Personally, Iíd just make that person irrelevant. Sign the papers, send the check-(I know, I know), turn in the forms, blah blah.
