To all those who say "Extract parts" you don't have to do that.
When you hit "Print" or use the keyboard shortcut (Control+P) the print dialogue box pops up. Uncheck the "Score" option select the part (such as Flute) and then tell how many copies to print of that specific part.
If you edit the parts to the format you want them to have, you don't need to "extract parts." You just either do ctrl P or "file" "print" and select the parts you want to print. If you make any changes in the score, they'll automatically change to the parts, otherwise you would need to re-export the parts.
...if you do it this way, the individual part will not convert consecutive measures of rests into multi-measure rests...you will print out every measure of rest individually...like they are in the score.
You can go to: File-Extract parts. That will open up those parts and you can then print individually. But you can also go to: File-Print and there will be checkboxes where you can check the specific parts that you want to print.
