I haven't been following the numbers as closely recently. I'd been logging every night until about Memorial Day this year. Just a quick glance at one source it looks like yesterday there was .08% growth in Texas and less new cases per day still than back last fall here. I don't think we're in a dire new upswing quite yet. (I get the feeling it's time to start paying attention closer though again. Especially in the counties that are really running behind on vaccination) |
Here is what I would say about next week. Are you fully vaccinated? Are you immunocompromised? If you are vaccinated and not immunocompromised I would follow the CDC guidance that says you're okay to be unmasked inside. If you are immunocompromised you probably should wear a mask to be safe.
If you're not vaccinated? You definitely should wear a mask everywhere.
You're in Texas. Barring an upswing back to a few hundred deaths a day I don't see us putting any restrictions in place again. At some point I could see cases going up and masks for under 12s being a thing in most states. I doubt it will happen here... It's been too politicized instead of doing the right things here.
