Because 100% of the time, a teacher walking into a new situation has 100% control over the kids, the previous inventory, and the state in which the band program was left? And can bring everything up to a first division level in six months of teaching? |
Earning a 2 or a 3 (or even a 4) isn't always or even often an indictment of the director. Some people are in truly unwinnable situations. Some districts require UIL participation, even if the program has no business going to contest.
That doesn't make them a bad director - and the fact that you think so really tells me more about you as a teacher than earning 20 years of straight divisions would.
