Keys for Transposing Instruments

I've got some lead sheets I need to write out for a group and I just transposed from concert pitch for my Eb and Bb parts. Oh, man. |
Two of these charts are in A. In my head, I know how to transpose parts and how to do it, but as a trombone player who teaches beginner band, I've never actually had to see my poor Eb lead sheet with all those sharps for F# Major. Most of my teaching life is in concert Bb, Eb, and F. My performing life doesn't involve having to look at anything but the bass clef.
Do sax players just kinda roll with sharps? These are adults with good chops, but not pros or ringers. I feel kinda bad throwing all these sharps over there.
TL;DR - Is F# Major really as scary as it seems when you play an Eb instrument?
