Resumes need to be targetng to the job by mining the keywords from the job description (don't lie, just maybe reword a few words using their words to accurately reflect what you do), so that you can make it through the applicant tracking system.
If you aren't at least a 60% match (different places vary), then your resume will get thrown out and never been seen by a human.
Depending on what you're willing to invest to do this, there's an app you can subscribe to check your resume against the job description.
Wish I'd known that when I was jobhunting. I couldn't understand why the only HR deprtment I heard from was the one where I knew people high up the food chain. My resume was hand-walked down in that case.
