Sound effect triggering

Asking for a friend...what do y’all use to trigger sound effects in a marching show? I haven’t done that before and don’t know how to answer the question.

Note...if you don’t care for it, please don’t bother trolling.

Hi! Our synth had a USB port in the back...we uploaded our sounds into a USB drive and plugged it in. There's a small 10 key keypad on the top of the synth that controlled the sounds. It has a lightning fast reaction time so my synth player was able to really nail those effect moments.

I run everything through Mainstage. This allows my malletstations or synth to trigger samples. If needed, I will also run a DTX to help with some samples.

We use an iPad and the SoundCue app. I like that we can do separate screens for each movement. Been using it a few years now and it's worked well!
