Percussion Ensembles (non-UIL)

It looks like I will be able to have a percussion (only) period next year. I'm looking for a book of percussion ensembles I could use in class. It doesn't have to be on the PML I just want something that is "real" music to play rather than just exercises. Around 5 parts would be ideal for my class of weak HS percussionists, but not necessary. Suggestions?

Definitely check out "Beyond Basic Percussion" like others mentioned above. Most of the 10 ensembles in the book have more than five parts, but they are definitely worth looking at.

Rowloff has several "Sicles" packages for six parts, and for slightly less difficulty check out their "Blast Off" series as well.

Kennan Wylie has three sets of "Percussion Construction" ensemble books, for 6-8 players and intermediate difficulty.

Look up the book "Beyond Basic Percussion" by Eric Rath and Ralph Hicks. Has 10 ensembles designed for younger kids.

Also, invest in the book "5 minute drill" as well. Has snare and mallet exercises set to an audio track. My percussion kids, from 6th-12th grade, LOVE it.
