I work at a 2A school district. Yes, I'm the only music teacher PK-12.
I taught 2 sections of 5th graders today. I could not figure out what to do today with these kids. They have done theory, rhythms, etc. for most of the year.
Then it hit me. Show the old black and white concert of Overture to Candide conducted by Mr. Bernstein. Suprisingly, the students were mesmerized by the performance. Of course you always have the 1 or 2 b-heads that think, "that's stupid". (Note to self, no band for you, _urd!)
Well anyway, nothing wrong with old school. Now to find Revelli and his bands!
