Fun 6/8 pieces

What are some your favorite pieces in 6/8? Not necessarily for UIL. Grade 2ish. Any and all suggestions welcomed. Thanks.

There's an old Andrew Balent Arrangement of Superman that is wonderful.

It has 6/8, 4/4 and back to 6/8

Its an old chestnut, but Funiculi, Funicula is so much fun. If you can find it!

Randall Standridge just published 'Starfire Fanfare' that's a great intro to 6/8. I think he has a couple others he's put out this year too.

All Ye Young Sailors by La Plante is another great one that you can tie into Spongbob Squarepants

Highland Legend, not completely in 6/8 but has a long 6/8 section. Very fun.

Who (besides horn players) doesn't like a Sousa march? The is an arrangement of The Washington Post by Story that can easily be worked up and it still maintains the character of the original. There is also a good arrangement of Semper Fidelis by Balent.

Irish Jig for Young Feet is a great intro to 6/8.

I loved March of the Irish Guard as a 6/8 introduction to my group. It limits the exposure to complicated rhythms to some of my best kids (flute, and percussion) but still exposed everyone to the odd meter.
