Oboes - Best Bang for the Buck?

I need to buy a couple of oboes for my program. Preferably durable as I have a student in particular who tends to be hard on her horns... what brands/models do you like?

i've used the Howarth the last 5 or so years. Very solid, dependable, and the company will do whatever it takes to keep you satisfied.

We really liked the Howarth oboes that we bought a while back. Not quite as pitchy as the fox can get occasionally.

I have a friend who comes and does oboe lessons for us normally. She suggested the Fox Renard 330 when we bought a new one about seven years ago. It's resin, but has the full key system on it. I would love to have a Loree for my best oboe players, but a wooden oboe comes with its own difficulties with cracks potentially. For that reason I went with it to have something that would be more durable.

Other than once or twice needing some adjustment it's held up well. Sounds great in my players hands, tuning is good, so no complaints! Not a fan of the zip case - at some point I need to replace that in the next couple of years. (Too many instruments are coming with them!)

I will second the Fox Renard...you will not have worry about temperature/ climate as much, and it does have full conservatory keys. They tend to last forever also.
