High School Virtual band success stories

Hello all!

Like many of you I'm struggling to find silver lining in my job right now and looking for some motivation.

Has anyone had any success (at the high school level) with virtual students, particularly in 2nd/3rd/4th bands? Any tips willing to share in keeping these kids, and in turn myself, motivated and participating, post-marching band?

What is this post marching band idea you are talking about? lol. Y'all, this is the LONGEST MARCHING SEASON EVER! Happy for the kids that they get to do the process. For the adults, we're all tired. I miss Christmas concert band music so much right now. I did see a positive post from Brian Balmages yesterday on Facebook where he talked about an All Region ensemble that met virtually and he made it work to where it sounded really cool. He did it by piping in a recorded ensemble and still rehearsing specific parts in the music. Read his post. It gave me more hope if we do have to shut down soon.
