The next 3 weeks

We’re not shutting down, not surprised but I do believe a lot of my families traveled or had people come to them.

Planned our in person concerts with no audience.

Holiday social? Probably not.
Caroling? Maybe.

My hats off to everyone-I hope with the vaccine news we get to see the end of this sooner than later.

I just found out that the school police officer where is use to teach is on a ventilator from Covid. I hope that everyone finds an extra layer of protection from now until Christmas so that as few school personnel as possible die from this virus. I’m grateful to God to have avoided this virus so far. I bet if a poll was done among us that a large percentage of band directors who comment on here have already gotten Corona.

We cancelled our in-person winter concert back in August knowing there would be a surge at this time. I'm trying to get my remote kids to submit videos of themselves playing just two easy tunes so I can compile them with the in-person kids who have already done theirs. Right now we don't have enough videos to even do a combined virtual performance (we are only getting about 25% of the band in-person right now). It may be the first time since I've been teaching (22 years) that I may have to cancel a performance. I feel like the other performing arts groups at my school who routinely cancel performances.
