I have a student that along the way has developed a bad habit. |
Either teeth too close together...
Throat closed off...
or Squirting air rather than blowing...
I've narrowed it down the problem to one or a combination of the above and I've tried all the tricks I know to do but I am still unable to get the student to try and fix their sound. I am not sure if they don't understand what I want them to do or my instructions aren't clear.
Any advice? Frustration is starting to set in and is making practice/playing unenjoyable for him.
Also, has anyone read any theories about mouth cavity size effecting sound? Meaning students with a small mouth are unable to achieve a dark, open, warm sound?
