Do a science project and build a PVC marimba - then do a Blue Man Group jam!
I used to do a thing where we watched part of Donald Duck in Mathmagic Land (on YouTube) and then took pieces of twine and discovered where the various intervals were by pinch-and-pluck to illustrate how sound vibration generates sound and how the different pitches are proportional.
Get Darcy Williamsí Teaching Rhythm Logically and teach them ALL THE RHYTHM! (Or, if you already have it, use the Ed Sueta method).
Do Ideal Image listenings - have them listen to your ideal tone models for each instrument and really teach them what to listen for / how to listen.
Do theory, and see if you can get some kind of interactive keyboard (Or NoteFlight!) so they can learn to hear it. Then give them short composition assignments.
