Ok, I know this is broken record by now. I am in my 6th year and have seen posts like this on the Yellowboard many a time. However, times certainly have changed as of recent. |
I am fairly certain I will be leaving the profession at the end of the year and I am sure I am not alone. I have been questioning this since year three and COVID seems to be my breaking point.
Taking into account that all teachers will end this year with considerably more technological proficiency than has been common in years past, what careers would a music teacher/band director be qualified for?
On a personal note, I am debt free and would like to keep it that way. I am not opposed to getting another degree/certification or needing advanced training but I do not want to be left with debt that will follow me for any extended period of time.
Thank you in advance for any and all advice! It is my hope that this post can help others who are in a similar situation.
