We haven't yet. We purchased shorts/shirts for the kids. I'm watching cases, if they don't spike in the next two weeks around us I may go ahead and try and get a plan in place by the 9th when we're supposed to have homecoming. |
We're not traveling to away games either. Our ATSSB region voted in favor of a recommendation that bands not travel this year. Our football district and superintendent are abiding by that recommendation. Other than one band that came yesterday we won't likely see another band this year.
My superintendent was a booster officer for her kids at one point, and got volunteered by her daughter apparently to be on the uniform crew for them at the time. She understood exactly what I said about having someone needing to be in close to every student. My other big concern is that a lot of times we're not right on the first guess, what do you do with the uniform that didn't fit? I know some of my friends have been using the software their company gave them with their uniforms and mostly being correct minus a couple of errors on the first try. Even if there is minimal risk there, it is still against the practices that were encouraged in our past documentation to share items without disinfecting first. I would personally want to at minimum isolate the used garments for 72 hours to be safe.
For my part like I said, I'm watching cases. They're starting to take an upswing from labor day. Those are what I consider the first generation of new cases. I'm more concerned about the second which will have happened most likely in re-opened schools. The 75% restaurant decision will probably likely result in some increases from the next generation in a few weeks. I'm just glad Abbot kept the bars closed - that one was clearly a big culprit down in our area for June's rapid rise in cases.
I have parents who trust me with the safety of their kids. More than one have thanked me for taking their kids safety seriously. My personal goal is to be able to sleep well at night knowing I haven't intentionally blown their trust at some point. If I had someone complaining about the uniform situation at this point I would just shrug and say, 'thank you for your opinion,' and move on.
