First, UIL is terrible at enforcing rules. They threaten but that’s just for show. They leave it up to local entities and councils and we see how well that’s going.... |
And here’s the thing: UIL is gone gone gone in a few months. Some local entities want to follow the rules, others certainly don’t, and everyone is asking “what rules?” and everyone should be asking what exactly is going on here.
UIL, TMEA, TBA, BOA, DCI, The student travel business, the uniform business, the extra staffs, and everything and everyone making money from education and band except for REAL CERTIFIED, DEGREED TEACHERS TEACHING are just out of luck. It’s over
And just like way back 75 years ago when band first became part of education in Texas it will be that band director teaching kids music without all the expensive BLOAT.
If you want to make money from band, you probably ought to just go ahead and be a band director in some school somewhere.
