There was already an incident like this in San Antonio. In fact, I believe there was a coach who also hid it as well. This is the problem with opening schools and trusting parents, kids, and school employees with informing the district of a positive test or even symptoms. Many will see informing the district as a violation of their privacy while others just don't want to be the one that gets the school shut down. Some may not have a choice because they can't take off work of two weeks (teachers) or parents who can't stay home with a sick child for two weeks (which is ironic considering many districts are asking parents to do just that by delaying school for 3+ weeks). I'm thinking the only solutions is those cryogenic chambers in Sci-fi movies. Freeze everyone until a vaccine is found. If we can insert new knowledge into kids' brains like in "Demolition Man" that would be great (school would be taken care of). Unfortunately, I think we would all wake in a world like "Idiocracy" (which actually wouldn't be too far off from where we actually are, sooo...). |
