We have actually had bad weather days as early as November up here. No it is not good for us. Also, no one has thought about the fact that if your football team is not in the playoffs, basketball season and workouts start and that is still another conflict for those of us in small schools. Also, I guess Christmas concerts are off the table. But, in some communities they are going to still demand a Christmas concert. How will that work out for those who advance to Area or State? And I'm not sure how the testing calendar falls during this time with all the various tests that are now administered. There are a lot of things to think about other than just moving some dates around. I'm betting after there are more and more cases of kids getting sick from the virus during football season, we will get another update from UIL and probably TEA. With all this do or die football stuff, we are heading for another forced shutdown. We can keep screaming, "my choice, my district" but unless you and the people in your district plan to put up a fence and not let anyone in or out, the virus can be spread by outsiders and by traveling to other schools for games. But hey, let's just not worry about any of that so that we can chase those trophies and put the director's name on the trophies that the KIDS earned. Wow! I didn't hear this much outrage when concert and sightreading was cancelled. Oh, silly me. That's not important. Just marching band and the three ring circus with all the props, magic tricks, electronics and the 50k + price tag.|
