We got one last year. We got a Titan modular synthesizer frame. It can hold the malletstation, the computer, and the speakers can go on the bottom rack if you want it to be all inclusive. |
It comes with free software to run on a Windows laptop. It took me about 2 hours to get it set up to get a few sounds to work. I'm also pretty competent with technology.
We bought a macbook pro so we could run mainstage. It was well worth the $30 for mainstage. It took all of 5 minutes at the most to get sounds. Mostly just plug it in and it plays. I would highly recommend this way if you are able to get your hands on a mac. The plug and play aspect is well worth it.
That being said, if you can only do windows it's not that bad just a LOTless user friendly.
Now the BEST THING ABOUT the MALLETSTATION for us..... we used it for timpani and chimes. No more transporting all of that equipment that has to be pulled or pushed with multiple people. Literally one person can push all of the malletstation by themselves!
Again, highly recommend macbook and mainstage for the computer. EASY. No fuss.
