Good luck to you! I think I worked with your dad when you were young, if I am thinking of the right person.
When I got my first teaching job, I applied all over the place and received a lot of interviews - only because I had a very wide application pool. I didn't get the offer to move to the Panhandle until July - which felt like forever after graduation and looking for a job.
I would recommend making sure you've applied with a wide net, if you are okay with relocation. Then, either way, I would recommend "handing in there" for at least a few more weeks before getting too pushy.
If you have a connection with someone - either through your dad, or through your own networking, I don't think it hurts at all to check with the fine arts director. In my experience, FA directors ususally are pretty detail oriented, and most likely have seen your application and resume for consideration. An extra e-mail to them may result in them responding some variation of "please make sure you have applied at the district web page".
This may not directly answer your question. I am just re-stating... Don't feel discouraged if you haven't heard much yet, as there is still time to secure a job. Keep up what you are doing, or potentially expand your job application net. Best wishes!
