I think youíre part of a group that can have an *next to your student teaching. *Scheduled for ó- HS in March- May 2020, Covid-19. |
My suggestion for overcoming this is to contact your cooperating teacher and get in on the planning. This is a huge learning opportunity and depending on the district and teacher, you might be able to get some experience video teaching. This is also where you need to be verbal in your cover letter about how well you take direction and am looking forward to being on a team you can learn.
Take this downtime to listen to lots of YouTube recordings (both excellent and a little rough) and start training your ear for hearing literature at the HS level if thatís the job you want. Work with your cooperating teacher to listen to the same recordings and talk about it.
Best of luck!
I am set to graduate in May with my bachelors in music ed. Student teaching this semester was supposed to be split between a middle school for the first half and at a high school after spring break. Thanks to COVID-19, I haven't done anything at the high school...other than a few emails. So my question is do I list both schools or just the middle school on a job applications?
For people looking for a high school assistant band director, would I even be considered if I didn't get to student teach at a high school?
Thanks for the help!
