Real DCI here. Are you SERIOUS? Babies on a Trailer is the most anticipated moment of any performance. What creates more spine tingling than that moment when Babies on a Trailer rolls out on the field? That moment when Babies on a Trailer doesn't roll out on the field? I don't so! |
Go away poser.
I know Verdi relies heavily on his Drum Corps experience, but truly he's done the Babies on a Trailer thing TOO MANY TIMES. There's a thin line between tradition and cliche.
Last night's Handel versus Verdi match up was one for the ages. Handel led off with genius:
Verdi countered with fireworks of his own, utilizing his crowd favorite go-to: "babies on a trailer."
Great game guys! Too bad this isn't everyone gets a trophy!
Advancing to the Rondo of 16: Handel, Whitacre, Bach, and Holst.
Todays opening round match ups ( and speaking of fireworks):
Early gamesTchaikovsky versus Sousa
and Copland takes on Joplin. Later in the afternoon the highly anticipated all-Italian throw down between Puccini versus Reshpigi. Finally, in the evening match we'll see Bernstein versus Smetana.
