If that were the case, I would smell like chocolate cake all the time!!!!!
It may have to do with the food she eats. If you go anywhere in the world, people have a unique odor from the foods and even more specific the oils they cook their food in. She maybe eating a lot of foods that she doesn't react to well. As for the conversational approach about, I cannot tell you. Just remember and it sounds a little gross, people sweat what they eat. So, maybe have someone check her diet. Just a thought.
I have a student in my band that smells EXTREMELY bad! Not sure if it makes the situation any worse, but the student in question is a female. Our counselor has spoken with her, has products for her to use, has had her use them, etc. My assistant, a female, has spoken with her. Our principal, also a female, has spoken with her and her mother.
It's terrible. I've said things to my entire band about normal hygiene and how to take care of one's self.
Throughout all of it, she doesn't ever smell any better. She was sent to the counselor this morning to put on deodorant and came back to class still smelling terrible. Her house does have running water and while her sibling and parents sometimes look a bit unkempt, they don't compare to her. I asked one of her friends if they've ever talked about it, and her friend said yes, they have and she says she bathes and uses soap.
What can I do?! I'm at a complete loss as to what to do! We're taking a long trip this year, and there's no way I can sit on a bus with her that long and not get sick. The kids near her have tried all year long not to be too rude to her, but they're starting to become less nice.
