Maybe that's true but maybe not. What if this is a CCC middle school and this person is just looking for a Spanish style march that fits the instrumentation and strong and weak sections? Or it could be a 2A or 1A school or a non-varsity middle school. In any case, just because a march is on the list I don't think someone should shy away from using it for their march. There are are plenty of other playable pieces on the grade 1 list. |
Yes, you can. But why?
It takes a possible piece out of your arsenal for UIL for next year, since you can't repeat a selection.
There are literally dozens of pasodobles and Spanish-sounding pieces that are attainable and performable by young bands. If you want to play a song "like" Plaza de Toros, try Spania by David Shaffer, or Crown of Castille by Vinson.
Just wanted to confirm, Plaza De Toros by Story is a Grade 1 on a PML, but I can use that as my March instead, correct?
