Do not use your band class time to work on that. Just don't. If they won't give you time during the day, try to have an after school practice for them. They may not all show up, but you can try. When you don't get many points for it, let them know why. Stand your ground on your class time. That's the only way anything will change with their attitude towards it.
So basically my principle(new this school year) is forcing me to coach a music memory team. The teacher over uil wonít work with me on a time to practice with students from her class even though other teachers donít mind. They act like what I do during my classes even though I have teks are not important and i can practice with them there. Well wtf are the other kids supposed to do???? They are not coming to music to learn music memory that is separate from what Iím teaching in my class. Any one else feel undervalued at their school? I have never felt this way until this year and Iím on year 10. I think itís a sign that Iím supposed to start looking elsewhere. I voiced my concern and scheduling and got bitched out for voicing my concern. Again just needing to vent and looking for some insight and positive advice.
